Why do Filipinos abroad behave better than Filipinos in the Philippines?

Actually, many Filipinos that go abroad come back with an entitled attitude, or they look down on their peers. In the good situations, they come back and share their knowledge and help their country. It all depends on the person. I'd say in many cases the locals "behave" better than their international peers because they haven't forgotten their humble roots!

The worst case I've seen was a university professor that completed his studies abroad who would talk hours on end about all the woes of his country and how stupid his fellow countrymen were. His condescending attitude was indicative of someone who wont ever contribute to change, who will just complain and feel good about himself. What a winner.

As foreigners, we are not better, and should not ask questions like this. Behave..? What are we, parents?

I have so much respect for us Filipino. For what they start out with and their situation, they lead difficult but happy lives. They sacrifice so much. For their family, for their careers, for the church.. and traffic!

Filipino nurses refused to leave their patients in Libya, despite their government urging them to flee the inevitable civil war. Filipino soldiers for the UN ignored orders to surrender their weapons to Islamists and fought them to their last rounds and successfully evaded capture. Filipinos have so much strength within them. My grandfather who was paralyzed and stuck in his bed for years was blessed with a wonderful staff of Filipino nurses, one of which made a solemn vow never to leave his side until he passed away. Something that people in his own family didn't even do.

It's a sad consequence of history, that when the United States was carefully coaching and growing the Philippine Government to become independent, the country was overrun by the Japanese and the government that had everything it needed to be good, was forced to comply with the demands of the Japanese military and commit corrupt acts. This sewed the seeds of corruption and chaos for years to come.

but still filipinos are worth dying for we stand united and we make it proud all over the world . mabuhay tayong lahat na filipino .
long live the philippines...

When I started my first business, Reset, we had no money, no product, and no employees.  It was just my brother-in-law and me. And we both had full time jobs. But we knew how to do one thing that nobody else knew how to do back then (1994-5). We knew how to make a website. We knew how to design a website. We knew how to do all the programming that makes a website have more than just graphics on it and actually has some use.
And then we heard that American Express needed a website. Specifically, Page on americanexpress.comAnd the people American Express had hired knew nothing about the technology behind websites. So they hired us: for about $250,000.
Then we did TimeWarner.com. Then we did HBO.com, thenConEd.com. And many many other sites. Then we hired people. Then we did more sites. Record labels, movie studios, startups, and so on. We hired designers and programmers. Our revenues were growing at least 10-20% a month. We were profitable from day one. Services are always profitable because, god forbid, a client fires you, you can fire the employees. Your only fixed cost is your office rent.
So the way to do it is to start off with services instead of products.
Two points:
A) Every software company started as a services company. Read the history of Oracle, started by Larry Ellison. They were a “database” company. But for the first five years they were in business, in order to “install” their database you had to hire them to install it and they would send in 100s of consultants and “install” it for you. They had no database then. They were a consulting / service company pretending to be a product company because it was an easier sale and Wall Street would value them higher.
B) My big regret on that first business was not packaging my services into a product. We build a lot of software during our existence that were powerful products. But we just used those products to make our services easier to execute (and enhanced our profits). We sold the company as a multiple of earnings. Probably the only company in the 90s to do so.
But if we had lost money like everyone else, IPOed as a product company, and then flamed out in 2001, we probably would’ve made a lot more money.
That said, every month we were in business we grew profits, made our clients and employees happy, and had a fun time. Then we sold and everything turned to hell.

      Looking to franchise Pancake House?
Here are relevant information that can help you understand how to franchise, how much you need and who to contact to start your own Pancake House franchise.

      About Pancake House

      franchise-logo-pancake-hous
Pancake House was originally established in 1970 by Milagros Basa, Leticia Zamora, and Carmen Zaragosa, three ladies who had a vision of introducing pancakes and waffles to a market that had been used to rice-based meals. The first Pancake House restaurant opened in 1970 in Magallanes, beside the old Magallanes Theater. Because of the location, the interior decor of the restaurant has featured, until now, popular movie posters, appealing to the A, B, and upper C crowd that frequented the cinema.

Through the succeeding years, Pancake House continued to grow and set up company-owned and franchised restaurants around the country. The vigorous push for increased growth and strength came in 2000 when a new investor group led by Martin P. Lorenzo acquired the Pancake House chain, including the commissary.
From a total of 22 outlets at the time of acquisition, Pancake House expanded to 81 outlets (as of December 2009). The brand’s presence is felt in key locations not only in Metro Manila but also in the provinces, such as Cebu and Davao in 2001, Cagayan de Oro in 2004, and Iloilo in 2005. From an employee force of about 350 in 2000, Pancake House has grown to more than a thousand as of end-2009.
At present, the Pancake House Group operates not just Pancake House outlets but also other restaurants such as Dencio’s, Kabisera ni Dencio, Teriyaki Boy, Sizzlin’ Pepper Steak, Singkit, and Le Coeur de France. All together , these brands command a network of 174 outlets nationwide.

In the Philippine milk tea industry, Serenitea is considered a pioneer. Though the idea was based on the famous drink from Taiwan, the company spent almost a year in conceptualization, research, logistics and planning to produce products that fit the Philippine market – taking into consideration the Filipinos’ discerning palate.

The owners also took inspiration from the traditional method in steeping tea. They believed that this process conveys more passion, not to mention flavor, to every cup of tea that they serve. And to customize the drink further, sugar levels were added as well as the introduction of new drinks, sinkers and snacks.

Looking to franchise a Generika Drugstore?
Here are relevant information that can help you understand how to franchise, how much you need and who to contact to start your own Generika Drugstore franchise.

          About Generika Drugstore

          franchise-logo-generika-dru
Generika Drugstore was established in September 2003 to address the need for affordable medicines and promote the use of generic drugs in the context of high prices of medicines in the country. The company is a joint venture composed of the family of Teodoro and Rosalinda Ferrer and the family of Alexandra and Julien Bello.

The first office was in a small 2-bedroom apartment in Goodwill Village, Parañaque City. Progress was slow as none of the stockholders had a medical background, nor were familiar with the local drug industry and the retail business. Gradually, the company built the organization by hiring pharmacists and other key employees; contacted drug wholesalers and suppliers; formulated internal company policies and procedures; opened bank accounts and made first purchases of medicines and related products.
A major milestone came in May 2004 when the first Generika Drugstore outlet was opened in Montillano, Muntinlupa. More company-owned stores followed after. With 16 stores, the company took the next big step into franchising the Generika Drugstore business model in May 2008.
As of February 2013, Generika has a total of 350 stores nationwide.
